The Local Government Committee at its last meeting approved a total of 17 grants for home buyers protected users in the town of Totana, the amount of each of them amounts to 700 euros, ie a total of 12,000 euros.
This aid was approved in the plenary on 28 October and aims to facilitate access to public housing in compliance with the constitutional mandate, explained Councillor for Housing, María José Bedia.
He also explained that this aid is reduced, but according to the circumstances that the municipal coffers, and aims to counteract as far as possible the measures approved by the Government of the Nation to the suppression of public support for the acquisition of social housing and the abolition of the tax deduction for the purchase of residence which came into force in early 2011.
Totana City Council applies a 50% reduction in the Tax on Construction, Installations and Works (ICIO) for developers to carry out public housing.
With this reduction, the developer can cut down as far as possible the selling price of housing.
