About 40 walkers participated in the hiking route that ran by the Chicama River Abanilla (01/04/2011)

About 40 walkers participated in the route, organized by the Department of Sports, which ran the Chicama River Abanilla on Sunday 27 March.

The monitor who led the group and designed the tour was José García Huéscar that accompanied the sendristas, whose ages were between 14 and 73 years.

The tour was linear, starting at the source of the river and along the promenade, to the vicinity of Abanilla.

In total there were about six miles, all on the decline, through breathtaking scenery and natural surroundings, highlighting Teller Canyon, a narrow gorge carved into the rock and excavated by the action of water over thousands of years, along narrow paths among reeds, reeds, pine trees and thick vegetation, wetlands, abundant palm trees at the end, with the bottom land and craggy yellow marl, villages were abandoned before the water mills, and many cave houses.

The Sports Department reports that there are two more trips to complete the walking program: next Sunday, April 3 (Ricote) and Monday May 2 (Cehegín).

All outputs have the modest price of 8 euros and are designed with walkers who enjoy deep into natural environments in the Region of Murcia, with routes that do not require great physical condition and that provide insight into areas of great value and beauty of our province .
