A total of 1,031 foreigners can exercise their right to vote in the call for the upcoming municipal elections to be held on May 22 in Totana, bringing to this county in the fifth largest municipality with a census of immigrants behind Mazarrón (3385 ), followed by Murcia (2705), Cartagena (1393) and Lorca (1358), respectively.
More than seventeen thousand foreign citizens (17 462) residing in the Region of Murcia may vote in the upcoming election, so the 61'83% (10,798) are from European Union states, while the remaining 38'16% ( 6664) come from other countries to respect agreements.
The majority are of British nationality and Ecuador with 5,988 and 5,524 people registered in the census, representing 34'29% and 31'63% of the latter, respectively.
These foreigners belonging to 31 different nationalities.
Besides those mentioned in the UK and Ecuador, the largest contributions are those of the natives of Romania.
Totana remain behind, and with a smaller number of potential voters, the towns of Los Alcazares (752), San Javier (736), Torre Pacheco (585) and Eagles (530).
