Consumption promotes, among the outlets selling electrical equipment, a campaign to collect signatures (19/01/2011)

The Department of Consumer Affairs will promote in the next few days a campaign to collect signatures to be considered the power consumption for the purposes of VAT, as an established staple supply 8 per cent and not 16 as established so far.

Citizens may sign this document on establishments selling all types of electrical equipment to be deposited by the Department of Consumer Affairs.

Through this document, the residents asked to be treated in the drinking water supply, land passenger transport, refuse collection and provision of social services and is taxed at the reduced rate.

In addition, it also asked not to occur again increases in the rates of Last Resort (those set by the Government of Spain to the proposal of the Ministry of Industry), until it has been out of the current economic crisis.

Also require that the benefits of the Social Bond, in addition to "energy term" be applied to all the concepts "capacity charges", "tax on electricity", etc. that make up the electricity bill.

The councilman of Consumption, María Isabel Sánchez Ruíz, recalled that citizens can not afford a new rise in electricity bills and this product of vital importance to all Spanish, and in just one year has risen by 20 percent .

For this reason, and in compliance with a motion that was presented from the Municipal People's Party and supported by all political groups, has launched a special campaign of detailed information on all aspects of the energy bill, which is supported the collection of signatures on the facilities.

In addition, the Municipal Office of Consumer Information, in addition to open every morning from 9:00 to 14:00, Mondays from 17:00 to 19:30.

The mayor reiterated that also provide information for those eligible for the social bond as having contracted an output of 3 kW, pensioners, families or the unemployed.

Sánchez Ruiz has indicated that the government has inflated the cost of the system and will raise almost to 20,000 million deficit accumulated rate at year end and therefore have had to go back up the electricity bill.

This, according to the mayor, is forcing consumers to take consistent and disproportionate increase in the rate while the government did not present a reasonable regulation that reduces system costs and not have to be citizens who pinched his pocket to pay the electricity bill.
