Municipal and ecclesiastical authorities inaugurated on Thursday December 9 at 13:00 hours the restoration of the Holy Temple of Christ, located in the historic center of town, following the conclusion of the traditional Mass to be held at 12:00 hours in the chapel of San Roque.
This project, which has had a budget of 13,920 euros, has allowed this emblematic place of the municipality is fully restored maintaining its original state.
The mayor of Planning and responsible for this project, María José Bedia, recalled that with the implementation of these works, the government team remedied the damage that is currently undergoing this monument of Totana, included in the list of protected buildings the municipality level "two" of protection.
In this sense, explained that the Autonomous Community, through the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, provided a grant of 10,440 euros to carry out the restoration of the monument, so the rest will be municipal contribution.
Bedia has indicated that the facade has been cleaned, has recalzado the mainstay, has undertaken the replacement of wooden beams, among other things.
He has also indicated that it has managed to restore the original roof which is putting a bright blue tile.
