Confectioners Association of Totana (aspartic acid) and the city of Totana today unveiled the new design and format of the box "Santiaguito" artisan sweets prepared by the professional association of those who have made 1,000 new copies to be sold at various bakeries and some commercial establishments in the municipality.
Aspart President, José Antonio Martínez Murcia, and Councilwoman Crafts, Isabel Maria Sanchez, accompanied by the vice president of the association, have noticed the new format designed by the two artists totaneros, and has been funded by the Directorate General of Crafts.
Each box, which will be sold at various bakeries and some commercial establishments in the municipality at the price of 15 euros, includes a total of 40 sweet "Santiaguito" and has been listed as a typical product of the Region of Murcia, which is the hallmark of quality regional artisan.
Boxes "Santiaguito" has been an evolution in design from 2003 that was established this association, which has allowed its sale to clients, customers and tourists in different formats from this sweet was chosen as a typical local craftsman.
He recalled the president of aspartic, have released several box models: the first 4,000 cases allowed to sell old prints, the second 2,000 boxes Eulaliense commemorating the Jubilee Year, the third single 5,000 units formats easy and affordable, the last coinciding with the celebration of World Trobada Peñas del FC Barcelona.
The mayor congratulated the association for his involvement in the tourist promotion of typical products of local artisans and boosting tourism in Totana inside and outside the Region.
Similarly, this professional group encouraged to remain in the organization of projects and activities, as the celebration of Three Kings Roscón which takes place at Christmas for several years and thanked the General Directorate of Handicrafts their collaboration in such initiatives.
He reported that it is working with the hotels in Totana to sign an agreement to allow the sale of crafts typical customers of these establishments.
For his part, Martinez Murcia announced that this year also will organize the popular Kings Roscón Christmas to benefit the NGO "United Hands" and thanked all the agencies, partner companies and people who every year make it possible to promote this type of festivities and to promote tourism in the municipality.
Santiaguito is a sweet made from almonds, sugar, butter, orange, apple pestiño glucose.
