The town of Totana surrendered Saturday to the family of music of the municipality to deliver the Gold Shield of the city to the Band Music of Totana.
More than 800 people gathered in the Hall of Performing Arts to witness a musical performance involving students from the School of Music, the Banda de San Juan Evangelista, the group of Friends of Music of The Paretón, Coral Santiago and musical group.
Gold Shield was presented by the Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, the president of the Musical Association, Juan Carrion, who emphasized that the person who was more deserving of this distinction is the director of the Banda, Ceferino Ayala, and Thanks to his figure is 30 years that this group is history.
The mayor totanero invaluable and appreciated the work of the group teaching generations of children and young people contributing to the promotion of culture and music of the municipality.
He also reminded that this work contributes to maintaining and promoting local musical tradition, thanks to the many people who have been part of the Association.
This tribute to the work meets all these years is a must, as he explained the president of the Association, who noted that through the work of its director, Ceferino Ayala, and hundreds of people who have been through it, both teachers and students, and the School of Music have formed bands of quality in the municipality.
During the event, also presented the book "La Banda Municipal de Música de Totana 1878-2010" written by Juan Cánovas Mulero and Juan Carrión.
This collection, said the president of the Association, summarizes thirty years of the group and evokes major events in which he participated, the recordings of their albums, or their participants.
