New Technologies Councilman attributes the problems that may exist in the DVB-T reception only to facilities of each city (03/09/2010)

The Councillor for New Technologies, Juan Carrion, has reported that problems with the neighbors regarding the receipt of the signal quality of digital terrestrial television (DTT), and not due to improvement works have been taking into Carrascoy repeater, as they have done, but the facilities of each citizen.

Therefore, given the complaints received in relation to the problems they are having to receive certain channels over DTT in recent weeks by fellow residents, among others, on the streets Cuba, Ecuador and Luis Martinez, the mayor has indicated since the autonomous region have reported that in early August we proceeded to make changes to the various transmitters to allow the introduction of new television channels, which caused problems in the reception of the national private channels (Antena 3 , Tele 5, La Sexta, Cuatro, etc)

Similarly, since the autonomous region indicated that since early last week have terminated all work required for the implementation of these channels, as well as to enable the various channels were received without any problems at all municipalities in the region.

They explained that the measurements have been made to ensure that the power with which transmissions are made have been affected, which have to be receiving all channels without any problem.

In relation to the potential problems that may exist, these are specific and not related to the transmitters or repeaters, but due solely to the facilities of each citizen.

For this reason, the mayor reported that anyone who continues to have problems getting these channels should contact a licensed contractor to check your installation and proceed with the necessary corrections in order to receive the signal without problems.

Still, he noted that if, after review of your facility continue to have problems, the installer will need to contact the City Council to gather information and, if found that these problems are very common, can raise the issue before the Autonomous Region for its relief (must be the installer and not the citizen who directed as well as we have indicated from the autonomous region, since they have been in contact with them and several neighbors and in all cases have been installation problems, which we have specified that it must be the way forward).

The mayor has indicated that since the autonomous region have identified two possible situations in which there have been problems in buildings with two antennas, because the signal is received by 2 different antennas, one may be pointing to Carrascoy transmitter and one at the transmitter Alicante, which is causing interference.

In this case, the installer should put a filter on the antenna of Alicante for this antenna only receives the regional channels.

Another case is taking place in buildings with a single antenna, which can cause problems in the orientation of the antenna (which receives both the signal Carrascoy like Alicante), as problems in the installation of the antenna, with the installer which have to review and take necessary actions to cure.

These problems, in Carrion, have been aggravated by changes that have been made to incorporate the new channels, but due to the installation does not meet the minimum requirements to ensure its proper functioning.

The mayor of New Technologies, Juan Carrion, has regretted the inconvenience and hopes that these problems have been remedied in full, thanks for the support of the citizen who has reported on the existence of such problems has helped to achieve better coordination between Autonomous Region and the City.
