The Councillor for Planning and Sustainable Development, María José Bedia, visited the works of the second phase expansion of the Point of Care for Children (EPI) of El Parral, "Doña Pepita López Gandía" located in the urbanization El Parral de Totana , next to the IES "Juan de la Cierva", in order to know the status of implementation of this infrastructure, which will double the number of children in school.
The works are being implemented by the commercial "Hermanos Gómez SCL" for the price of 536,293.61 euros.
This nursery school, public third municipality, responds to a request from the residents of this neighborhood.
Since last September, about 60 children are enrolled in the center.
The current infrastructure houses eight classrooms children first cycle (children aged 1 to 2 years) to accommodate a maximum of 25 children each, toilet modules, an administrative area with offices, staff room, reception, public toilets, clothing, kitchen, store, playground and garden area, among other services.
The building, located across the street Santomera the corner of San Antonio, is on one level and has projected adapted for people with disabilities, adapted toilets and changing rooms as well as ramps.
With the expansion work, said the councilman, is planned to build six classrooms, for a maximum of 25 children, three double modules shared toilets every two classrooms, a body of single-storey building, with access by center's main lobby.
All classrooms have direct access to playground.
Through these extension works as Bedia said during a visit to these works are intended to expand the resources for the care of children of 0-3 years, facilitating the reconciliation of work and family life in our town and improve the quality of life of citizens.
