The Mayor of Totana, Andrés García and his Government Team rejected in the plenary session of the City Council of Totana, the support for the Tajo-Segura transfer, so necessary for the farmers and neighbors of our Municipality.
During the celebration of the ordinary plenary on April 26 at the City Council of Totana was presented urgently a motion in which the PP totanero requested the rejection of the Secretary General of the PSOE for their demonstrations against the transfers, which had manifested on April 19 during various events in Castilla la Mancha and Aragón, as well as on his twitter account.
From the Popular Party the urgency was defended before the visit next Sunday of Pedro Sanchez to Molina de Segura, with the purpose that the totaneros socialists in that act expressed their disapproval to the demonstrations made by their boss, but these do not dare to to face and put their neighbors before their partisan interests, then our mayor comes to us in social networks giving lessons using the motto;
"People come first."
The PSOE de Totana did not admit the urgency supported by its government partner so the motion did not obtain an absolute majority to be defended, which the Mayor shows his refusal to fight for water so necessary for daily consumption and totanero field, affecting the economic subsistence of many Totana families.
With the statements of the Secretary General at the national level of the PSOE;
"Our goal is to end the transfers and bet on the desalination plants" we believe that this is the beginning of the end of the Safe Tajo Transfer, if Mr. Pedro Sánchez were to lead the government of Spain.
There have been many demonstrations that have been made from the City of Totana and its political groups on the problem of water and in defense of the Tajo-Segura transfer, so during the plenary session on Thursday, it was again playing in favor and in defense of the transfers, not only of those that are under way but also of those that must be built and reproach Pedro Sánchez, leader of the national socialists, for his daring demonstrations that seriously harm the Murcian countryside, and in general to the Region of Murcia.
In this motion, it was also proposed to request the Regional and National Government, as well as all political groups, to work on the National Water Pact, in order to respond to the main challenges of water management in Spain.
Deficit Attention being one of the main points to be addressed and in obtaining a solution.
But we see how the Mayor does not dare to defend his Totana neighbors before his party, demonstrating once again the defense of their partisan interests over the interests of their farmers and neighbors.
It is painful that the Mayor and his government partners, with vain excuses, do not want to debate a motion in which the only thing that was requested, as they do on a regular basis, is the defense of the transfers that keep so many families.
Soon they will be planted in Madrid in manifestations next to the irrigators, but that yes camouflaged so that their Secretary General does not see them and to be well before the neighbors, but with performances like this, they are portrayed by themselves.
