The construction works of the new park in the neighborhood of San José in Totana, framed in the Works and Services Plan for 2017, will begin on May 2, according to the Councilor for Works and Infrastructure, Víctor Balsas.

The actions, which have a deadline of about two months, were awarded last December to the company "Talleres y Conducciones Juanito, SL", with a registered office in the Archena-Fortuna highway;

and have a budget of 103,052.48 euros.

Last October, the project to build the new park in this neighborhood was approved, as well as to initiate the hiring process through an open procedure, which lasted until the end of 2017.

The financing of these works is the responsibility of the Autonomous Community, which assumes the greater part of its cost, and the Totanero Consistory itself.

The neighbors of Totana chose in their day the construction of this new infrastructure and different paving works in Moratalla street and change of supply and sanitation in Sucre street, respectively, within the process of participation and public consultation opened by the City Council For this end.

The chosen projects, considered more necessary by the citizens, were presented at the time by the municipal government to be financed from the budgets of the POS of the Ministry of the Presidency of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, for which the City Council of Totana was assigned 214,662 euros in this exercise.

The councilman of Works showed his satisfaction for the fact of starting the works of a much needed infrastructure and demanded by the residents of the neighborhood of San Jose, responding to a historic request;

and allowing to provide this area of ​​the urban area with the first green space and with a children's play area.

Víctor Balsas pointed out that, although the procedure for processing the work has been extended a little longer than is desirable due to the necessary bureaucratic administrative procedures, this neighborhood will have this long-awaited park before next summer.
