The Department of Culture, through the Municipal Library "Mateo García", has organized a broad program of activities, with about twenty cultural initiatives, on the occasion of the Book Day, which will last throughout the month of April in this municipality.
The councilor of the branch, Eulalia Moreno, has recently presented the program of events that begin this week and will end next April 30;
some of whose activities require prior registration to participate in them.
Throughout the month, as in previous editions, the solidarity donation will be held at the Municipal Library, from Monday to Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., for the benefit of Caritas. in Totana.
In addition, from 9 to 30 April, the activity "Campaign of books that heal, heal" will take place, in which boxes of books will be deposited in Health Centers, cafeterias and exhibition halls, so that once that the book has been read will be returned to the "Mateo García" library.
On Monday, April 9, there will be a session of the "Doctor Cuentitis" Workshop (5:30 pm), with children from 4 to 9 years old, prior registration in the library and until full capacity is reached.
On April 16 and 18, the visit to the Storytelling Workshop of the users of the day centers for people with intellectual disabilities "José Moyá" and people with mental illness "Princess Letizia" will take place, each day those of a center (11:00 hours).
Also on Thursday, April 19 will be the presentation of the book "El abismo de la frontera", by Francisco José Motos, at the municipal library (8:00 p.m.);
and on Friday, April 20, a new visit to this infrastructure will be held to enjoy a storyteller with the participation of the "Clara Campoamor" Nursery School.
III Meeting of Reading Clubs
On Saturday, April 21, the Reading Club of Totana will participate in the III Meeting of the Reading Club of Murcia, which will take place in Molina de Segura, prior registration and information in the municipal library "Mateo García".
On Monday April 23, Book Day, will be the 8th edition of the activity "Traveler Book" throughout the urban area and, as a novelty, the reading of biographies and works of illustrious totaneros characters will be celebrated in the educational centers of Totana, an activity framed within the commemoration of the centenary of the city (1918-2018).
That same day will take place the awards ceremony of the IV "Morerica Galán" Contest, in the municipal library "Mateo García" (6:30 pm).
The program will continue on Tuesday, April 24 with the gathering of the Reading Club, in the same public library (7:30 p.m.);
while on Wednesday, April 25, a storytelling workshop will be held again with users of the day center for people with intellectual disabilities "José Moyá" (11:00 am).
On Thursday, April 26, this storytelling activity is aimed at interested adults until full capacity is reached (5:30 p.m.).
On Friday April 27 will be the talk of "Water Philosophy" by the author Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Chulía, from the publishing house "Gotas de luz", at the "Ginés Rosa" Theater, with the attendance of students from the centers of Totana.
The program ends on Saturday, April 28, with the "Table Games Workshop", at the Socio-cultural Center "La Cárcel", from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, after registration at the municipal library, in which the participants have to take their games and share them with the attendees.
