The Federation of Student Associations of the Region of Murcia (FEMAE) organizes from 26 to 28 March the Meeting "SuperEsudiantes'2018" in the youth hostel of Las Alquerías, with the participation of more than fifty young people from different associations students from different municipalities of Murcia.
The Councilor for Youth, Inmaculada Blázquez, and the general secretary of the Youth Student Association of IES "Juan de la Cierva" and the Murcian Federation of Student Associations, Francisco Acosta, presented this event, which will bring together young people interested in start in the association and student participation.
The participants will carry out leisure activities and coexistence in the natural environment of Sierra Espuña.
The first meeting was held in the Cartagena neighborhood of Canteras in March of last year 2017.
Participants will discover the benefits of participating and learning about a wide selection of content in educational, social, technological, health and wellness issues, among others;
for which they will have to pay a symbolic fee of 5 euros per assistant.
The workshops will be carried out by students, among equals, with renewed contents and non-formal education techniques;
In addition to contents of participation and rights of students, skills to improve their school performance and social issues that may be chosen by the participants themselves.
The general secretary of the Youth Association of Students of the IES "Juan de la Cierva" explained that in FEMAE we are dedicating our resources to two areas of action: contributing to the improvement of the educational system from our student perspective;
and advocate to increase student participation at the level of schools and society itself.
During these three days of coexistence will be taught on content related to student participation, what we do and what it is to belong to an association and how to create it;
the different ways of participating in an institute and also other contents related to the current situation of the educational system, such as bullying, feminism, well-being and health, emotional intelligence and communication, among others.
Along with training spaces, recreational moments or leisure and free time, such as games, cultural visit to the La Bastida site, gymkhana, etc. will also be offered.
In fact, the Youth Council will collaborate with FEMAE by financing the bus transfer of participants to the archaeological park of La Bastida.
He also explained that FEMAE has detected that student participation within schools improves school coexistence;
and noted that student associations conduct coexistence activities that unite students, support students who suffer bullying and collaborate in carrying out activities with the AMPAS and the teachers' departments.
In addition, he stressed that these groups improve communication between the Informajoven services of the town halls and the students themselves;
and of course, they also educate in democratic values, of solidarity and tolerance to promote the inclusion of all diversity.
For its part, the Councilor for Youth encouraged young people to take advantage of this opportunity to reflect and discuss their concerns and needs in the field of participation and education;
and he said he hoped that this regional meeting would be beneficial for his interests as students.
