The Minister of Finance and Public Administration visits some of the works included in the latest annuities of the Works and Services Plan (06/03/2018)

In addition, it announces that the Community will finance the construction of a park in the neighborhood of San José de Totana and the renovation of several streets and the improvement of sanitation and supply networks in the urban area that are part of the 2017 Works and Services Plan, which contemplates a global investment of more than 196,000 euros

The Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, visited today, together with the Director General of Local Administration, Manuel Durán, and the Mayor of Totana, Andrés García, the works of execution of the projects corresponding to the Plan of Works and Services of the year 2016 already executed- and know the ones planned within 2017, in the process of bidding and awarding.

The head of Finance and Public Administration wanted to know the state in which some of these actions have been, visiting the children's playground of the municipal park "Marcos Ortiz" and the works of Cánovas del Castillo street;

where he was accompanied by the councilors of Works and Infrastructure, Víctor Balsas, Water and Sewerage, Antonia Camacho, and the mayor María José Bedia.

Specifically, the POS of 2017 includes the construction of a park in the neighborhood of San José, with an amount of 103,052 euros;

as well as the paving of Moratalla and Sucre streets, and the renovation of supply and sanitation networks in Sucre street, with a budget of 93,351 euros.

In total, the investment amounts to 196,403 euros that the entire cost of the Community, because thanks to the reduction of the initial price of the tender the City has not had to make any expenditure, as explained by the representative of the regional executive.

The counselor noted that in 2016 the investment for the Works and Services Plan (POS) of the municipality of Totana amounted to 179,987 euros, in 2017 of 196,403 euros and in 2018-219 will reach 429,324 euros, at a rate of 214,662 euros per annuity , thanks to the biennial nature of the plan.

The head of the Treasury explained that "this plan is an oxygen ball for the municipalities of less than 50,000 inhabitants of the Region, since it allows carrying out works for the improvement of infrastructures and equipment without affecting the municipal coffers".

In the so-called Pardos Plan of 2016, the rehabilitation of the children's play area of ​​the municipal park "Marcos Ortiz", the paving of Cánovas del Castillo and Cañada Zamora streets, and the collection and evacuation of rainwater from Teniente Pérez Redondo Street were addressed. , to the ravine of Los Arcos.

These works amounted to 205,713 euros, of which the Community paid 179,987 euros and the City Hall the remaining 25,726 euros.

In addition, Andrés Carrillo stressed that "the Works and Services Plan, which was launched by the regional government in 2015, has been the best opportunity that the municipalities of the region have had to carry out investments of various kinds and thanks to which now they have less deficit of infrastructures and basic equipment ".

Totana City Council will begin shortly, through the councils of Works and Infrastructure, to work on the selection of those projects that will be undertaken by the POS of the annuities of 2018/2019 in order for citizens to select participatory those that are most necessary and susceptible to be executed.

7.8 million euros for projects in 2017

The 41 municipalities of the Region with less than 50,000 inhabitants presented to the Community a total of 65 projects for their financing under the Works and Services Plan of 2017, which includes more than 7.8 million euros, of which six are borne by the Autonomous Community, 20 percent more than in the previous year.

The counselor said that "the great novelty of the Works and Services Plan is that in 2018 it has a biennial character, so that the town halls can undertake works of greater scope and importance".

The projects are mainly paving, renovation of public lighting, public parks works, water supply and sewerage, reforms in cultural facilities, social centers, markets and supply places, and civil protection services.

In order to select these actions, it was taken into account that the projects have been submitted to citizen participation in each of the municipalities, and the collaboration of the municipalities that requested the actions through the corresponding local agreements and the elaboration of technical projects.

In addition, it was submitted to the Regional Council for Local Cooperation, in which the municipalities of the Region are represented.
