The mercantile "Hoteles de Murcia, SA" assumes today the new management of the hotel complex of La Santa, located next to the sanctuary of the Patron of Totana, for the next twenty years;
whose accommodation service will presumably be lent as of next February, every time the internal improvement works in that infrastructure will be executed.
The mayor, Andrés García Cánovas, and the representatives of the new adjudicator, the brothers Joaquín and Juan Carlos Piernas Morillas, signed the lease and received the hotel keys from the hands of the totanero regidor in the course of an institutional event held at the gates of the hotel, in the atrium of the sanctuary.
The event was also attended by the director general of the Murcia Region Tourism Institute, Manuel Fernández-Delgado, the first deputy mayor, Juan José Cánovas, the contracting and tourism councilors, Ana María Cánovas and Inmaculada Blázquez, respectively , and numerous members of the Municipal Corporation totanera.
In addition, also met councilors of the City of Lorca, patrons of the La Santa Foundation and the new pastors of Santiago de Totana and Santa Maria la Real de Aledo, Francisco Jose Fernandez and Carlos Casero, other totaneros priests and representatives of the business and innkeeper of the municipality of Totana, among other personalities.
The contract includes the management of the hotel and the cottages distributed throughout the resort.
For its part, the restaurant-cafeteria service is expected to be offered to visitors on the occasion of the upcoming Santa Eulalia patron saint's feasts in December, before the hotel's definitive opening.
The Plenary already awarded in the regular ordinary of July, with the votes in favor of the PSOE and Ganar Totana-IU and the abstention of the PP and the non-attached mayor, the new lease of the hotel and the eight rural houses of La Santa that the relevant administrative procedure culminated after a complex and cumbersome procedure.
The award is for twenty years to the said merchant, with registered office in Lorca, for the price of twenty-six thousand four hundred euros for fixed income (excluding VAT) with an initial grace period of forty-two months, with the economic and technical improvements contained in its offer, being the only tenderer who submitted an offer on his day.
The type of contract is private for the lease of the operation of the hotel complex and the eight rural houses located in the surroundings of the sanctuary for a period of two decades.
The company will carry out necessary investments valued at 340,834.39 euros for the start-up of the entire complex, with an annual fixed income that is set at 26,400 euros plus VAT.
Between these investments and improvements that the company will provide progressively during the next months are a plan of works and operation, maintenance plan of existing supplies, cafeteria service throughout the year and other hotel offers.
Despite its appeal, the Town Hall totanero had seen how on two occasions the contest has been deserted.
The hotel complex had until its closure the category of four stars and counted on a hotel of 35 rooms besides the rural houses, whose cessation of the activity occurred in February of the 2016.
This one is to seven kilometers of the urban helmet of Totana and two of Aledo, in the regional park of Sierra Espuña, next to the architectonic set of the hermitage of the Patron of Totana, Santa Eulalia of Mérida;
and is erected on an old building of the sixteenth century.
It is also surrounded by large garden areas and it stands this emblematic architectural ensemble that has been declared of Cultural Interest, with category of monument, the church of Santa Eulalia of Merida, and defined its protection environment.
