Totana will promote the creation of the so-called Municipal Forum of AMPAS for the academic year 2017/2018 (28/08/2017)

The Department of Education of the City of Totana will start the proceedings for the creation of the Municipal Forum of AMPAS during the first quarter of the 2017/18 school year, as well as the drafting of a regulation of said body of participation of the educational community Of fathers and mothers.

This initiative, which was approved in the ordinary plenary session last June, was jointly promoted by the municipal groups of the PSOE and Ganar Totana-IU.

The associations of mothers and fathers of students are organizations that guarantee the freedom to associate to collaborate and thus participate in the educational tasks of the school attended by their children, with the help of their teachers and teachers.

All of them are governed by the LODE and Royal Decree 1533/86 in terms of their specific characteristics and by the legislation of associations in the general aspects that are applicable to them.

The municipality of Totana has 16 associations of fathers and mothers that correspond to the following centers: Children's Schools (Clara Campoamor, Carmen Baró and Pepita López Gandía);

(Santa Eulalia, La Cruz, Tierno Galván, Luís Pérez Rueda, San José, Deitania, Santiago and Lébor);

(Reina Sofía, La Milagrosa and Guadalentín) and secondary education centers (IES Prado Mayor and IES Juan de la Cierva).

According to sources from the Department of Education, this forum aims to become a meeting point where the exchange of experiences or that serve to channel common needs, as well as for all these associations to work in the same direction.

In this Municipal Forum of AMPAS of Totana is expected to join the 16 currently existing in the municipality with the aim of becoming a tool to share educational resources, in a channel of participation of families, which serves as a channel Of communication between educational centers and local administration.

In addition, it aims to raise awareness of the work of parents' associations, to channel common and particular needs to the centers in order to transfer them to local, regional or national administration, and even to be able to study in a joint and coordinated way the Constitution of a Municipal Federation of AMPAS as it already exists in many municipalities of the Region, among other issues.
