Manuel was a Professor of Economics at the University of Murcia (UMU) for more than thirty years and is an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Murcia since his retirement in October 2015.
PROFESSIONAL AND RESEARCH ACTIVITY:
He taught in the Master in Economic Development and International Cooperation and in Human Resource Management and Management.
He also taught in the Degrees in Journalism, Labor Relations and Human Resources and in the Degree in Labor Sciences, as well as in the Senior Classroom of the University of Murcia.
Internationally, he taught at the Universities of Baja California Sur (Mexico), Puebla (Mexico) and Tarija (Bolivia).
He has worked in collaboration with other specialists who come from the field of Sociology, Law, Education, Psychology, History.
With different publications in the field of Cooperation to Development, Emigration, Co-development and Human Rights in several Congresses and Conferences nationally and internationally, one of the last works in which it has participated has been "The labor market of young people in the Region of Murcia ", published by the Economic and Social Council of the Region of Murcia in 2011.
Also, along with other members of the Citizen Forum of the Region of Murcia, has elaborated the chapter: "From Hydraulic Nationalism to the Chimera of the Brick" of the book "Devastated Landscapes" (Editorial Traficantes de Sueños, 2013).
He recently coordinated, along with Patricio Hernández and Andres Pedreño, "The Other State of the Region." Report 2014, edited by the Citizen Forum of the Region of Murcia.
Together with Cristina Vilaplana and Israel Sancho, she has carried out for CESRM the study "The Socio-Labor Situation of Persons aged 45-64 in the Region of Murcia", published in 2016.
His diversity of interests led him to be Director of the Classroom of Flamenco of the University of Murcia.

The Great Depression started in 2008 had as one of its causes the previous deregulation of the banking business in the richest countries on earth, who are also the ones who control this business on a planetary scale.
Deregulation broke one of the requirements for the proper functioning of the system: the confidence that the money received for the real goods and services in the exchange, can continue to be used in the purchase of other goods and services.
Since most of the money that is handled in the economy is bank money, the importance of banking in the maintenance or decay of that form of trust can be understood.
The banking deregulations also facilitated the episodes, which occurred before and after 2008, by which banking conglomerates were applied, with great media coverage, to the manipulation of the LIBOR and the EURIBOR values ​​with great influence on the payments that must To face families and companies, in their mortgages and their debtor position in the business activity.
Events such as the collapse and rescue of the Spanish savings banks have the same origin as the other bank absurdities listed.
Recently the floor clauses have been leaked, which have been a widespread practice of Spanish banks already declared abusive, which will force the return of the amounts collected more on those mortgages where it had been incorporated.
These clauses are nothing more than a practice of the same root as those which have characterized banks in the last 30 years.
What is announced for the next future on this fraudulent behavior of the bank, does not allow to think that the appropriate measures are being taken to solve the problems discussed.
