Will be re-bid in the school year 2016/17 the program "Know Your City" (02/09/2016)

The Department of Education will offer throughout the next school year 2016/2017 the program "Know Your City", an initiative which aims to provide schools in Totana, within its schedule of extracurricular activities, possibility that primary school students to visit the main town hall.

Visits are met and guided by municipal technicians, and during children may know the various departments of the City, the main services and history.

Technicians accompany the students on his visit by the plenary hall, the municipal archives, the Mayor and other units of Interest;

where they will meet the functioning of the local administration and the work done there, as well as other stories of interest.

School of 4th, 5th and 6th of Primary Education know firsthand the development of the plenary sessions and the work being members of the municipal corporation, as the visit will conclude with a reception the mayor in his office.

Visits are also accompanied by teachers will be on Fridays during the remainder of the school year, and last approximately one hour.

To participate in this activity is necessary, since the course started, make an appointment through the Department of Education (968/41 81 51, extension 0238).

In the past school year, which it took place between February and April were more than 400 students who participated in this project, belonging to schools "Reina Sofia", "San Jose" and "Tierno Galvan".

The objective of the program "Know Your City" it is to bring school to the municipal institution and is suitable for students who are working contained in the Social Sciences, and learning-oriented and review of concepts such as the municipality, municipalities, elections and municipal elections, democracy and political parties, the work of councilors and mayor, among others.

The claim is that participants can also identify and understand the concept of location and different types there, differentiate and identify different types of neighborhoods and streets elements;

know the structure and functioning of the local government and the services it provides and develop habits of public awareness related to road traffic, such as pedestrians and as users of transport and other services.
