Corporate discuss a joint motion of the PSOE groups, Winning Totana-IU and C's on Day celebration Orgulllo LGTB next June 28 (01/06/2016)

The Full Council of Totana will discuss a joint motion of the municipal utilities groups PSOE, IU and Earn Totana Citizen-Party of the Citizenship to celebrate LBTB Pride Day, commemorated on 28 June.

The motion urges for Pride Week LGBT Rainbow flag, you will be on the balcony of City Hall;

and also the Consistory will be proposed, along with those associations, organizations and people in general who want to work, activities to accompany the group at their parties and raising public awareness.

In the motion, the institutional commitment is collected to support any claim that, in this sense, may arise in the municipality;

while the commitment of the celebration of LGBT Pride Day, each year, of the part of the municipal institution.

The party LGBT Pride takes place on 28 June, having celebrations around that day, when the Stonewall Riots (New York, EE. UU.), 1969, marking the beginning of the liberation movement commemorated homosexual.

Stonewall riots consisted of a series of spontaneous, violent demonstrations against a police raid that took place on the morning of June 28, 1969, in the pub known as the Stonewall Inn of New York's Greenwich Village.

Pride has grown from those small protest demonstrations of the 80s to the big event it is today.

Event in which we all unite to celebrate equality and diversity, in a playful and fun way, without forgetting, because they are absolutely necessary, as we saw last month when we presented the motion against the LGBT phobia, claims Collective LGTB.

LGTB Pride celebration is open to everyone (children, youth, seniors, neighborhood residents and visitors from all over the world) with a multi-ethnic and cultural character that reflects the diversity of today's society.

Thus it was born the "Pride, an example of coexistence."

This celebration aims to promote the involvement and awareness of groups, organizations and society in general, to promote the necessary reconciliation and the need to engage with respect and coexistence.

In addition, it calls for connecting and help develop the LGBT communities, fostering key partnerships, provide a platform to educate and give visibility to diversity through a significant public presence, honoring the past remembering the necessary and hard historical struggle, protect the future through outreach, education and defense of the right to hold, valuing diversity and respecting differences accepting and working to understand the diverse cultural complexities that influence identity.

Therefore the City of Totana, which already expressed unanimously against LGTBfobia, determined through this motion the need to support this group, both in their demands and in their celebrations.
