Users of the Day Center "José Moya Trilla" will participate in the Championship of Spain Athletics for the Disabled (31/05/2016)

A total of four users of the Day Centre "Jose Moya Trilla" participated in the Championship of Spain Athletics for the Disabled held in Cartagena from 19 to 22 May, according to sources of the Department of Social Welfare.

Turnout was a resounding success, both sporting and enhance the level of autonomy and other habits of everyday life of each.

In this championship they gathered more than 500 athletes from most of the communities in the Spanish territory within which athletes who are scholarship holders in the ADO program of the Spanish Federation that are in different residences and centers of excellence were performance, and others will participate in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, which is what gives grandeur to this championship, so the high level athletes.

Totaneros athletes participated with the club "Primisport" Cartagena because by participating with 4 athletes, they not admitted as a club with which managed to be runners-up Spain team behind the Linea de la Concepcion, and ahead of Paralympic teams like Puertollano, or teams of Madrid and Galicia with professional athletes.

In addition, they also obtained a medal in the relay 4 X100M, remaining in third place and Pedro David Balsas being one of the components of l same.

At the individual level, both Mari Carmen Robles, Ana Rosa and Pedro Canovas position obtained l finalists in most of the tests involved.

So Peter Canovas was 9th in the shot put, 11th in the javelin and 4th in discus.

Ana Rosa totanera 5th stay in their semifinal series at 100 meters, 10th in the shot put and 8th in the shot put, improving its record on 2 meters.

In addition, Mari Carmen was 5th in discus, 6th in the 200m and was ranked second in his series in the semifinals of the 100 meters, but in the end has lack of 30 meters, fighting for medals, suffered a small contracture and he had to retire.

A great merit for these four athletes, since the only sport they do is in the center, like other colleagues, and most athletes attending the championship train 3 to 5 days a week.

The technical-sports center team wants to thank all the professional team of the Day Center José Moyá for giving us all the support to participate and not put any inconvenience, as the councilman of Social Welfare, Javier Baños, and of course families, who are always susceptible to everything you need.
