The director of the Instituto de la Juventud de Murcia delivery Totana youth correspondents for a secondary education diploma (29/06/2010)

The director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, has delivered the certificates of participation for young people during the 2009-2010 school year have served as youth correspondents, information decentralization program launched by Youth Institute, and in the town, four young correspondents, two correspondents in the IES "Prado Mayor" and two in the IES "Juan de la Cierva".

These correspondents are awarded a grant by the discharge of their duties.

The amount of the scholarship is 300 euros for each correspondent, of which 150 euros are contributed by the Youth Institute and 150 euros by the city of Totana.

During this course has involved a total of 70 reports, 30 more than last year, they have developed their activities in 36 schools of secondary education in the region, distributed in 27 municipalities.

Veronica Lopez said that "in this course correspondents youth program has had a high turnout, have added new schools and new young people who have done important work in disseminating information about resources and activities juneviles"

The figure of Youth Correspondent is primarily responsible for disseminating and informing young people of calls, resources and activities that may be of interest, while others reflected the concerns of young people to deliver them to the Institute of Youth.

To conduct this work have the technical support of 27 youth information centers Informajoven regional network.

The role of Youth Correspondent, depending on the scope, is developed by students in secondary education institutes and the University of Murcia, cultural mediators in libraries and, finally, for guides in museums.

Following the pilot phase developed during 2008-2009, the program received last school year with the participation of municipalities Abanilla, Abarán, Alguazas, Alhama de Murcia, Archena, Beniel, Blanca, Calasparra, Cehegín, Ceuta, Cieza, Fortuna, Fuente Alamo Jumilla, La Union, Librilla, Lorca, Los Alcazares, Lorqui Mazarrón Moratalla, Mula, Puerto Lumbreras, San Pedro del Pinatar, Santomera, Torre Pacheco Totana.

Also part of this project, museums, libraries and the University of Murcia.

Through a partnership with the Directorate General for Books, Archives and Libraries, involving eight municipal libraries plus the Regional Library.

In addition, we selected those that were part of the project "Multicultural Library 'in the municipalities of Fuente Alamo, Lorca, Los Alcazares, Mazarrón, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar, Torre Pacheco, Murcia and Totana.

Owned regional museums also joined this program through the Department of Fine Arts and Cultural Assets.

In total, 13 youth correspondents guides brought in six museums: the Archaeological Museum, the Fine Arts, Santa Clara, Salzillo, the Barranda (Caravaca de la Cruz) and Mula.

Murcia University joined the program Youth Correspondents four students who were active in University Information Services Campus de La Merced Campus Espinardo.
