The mayor provides some data that should make us think about the seriousness of what is happening to us (26/09/2020)

"Don't believe what they tell you about the world (not even what I'm telling you) I already told you that the world is uncountable ..."Some data that should make us think about the seriousness of what is happening to us:When the grape campaign ends, the activity will begin in the Warehouses and fields of the Vegetable and winter fruits.

The risk will not end.

Unlike.Every day, the data are very complicated in Totana and the number of children affected with a positive is chilling.Although the viral load of COVID 19 is weaker than at the beginning, the risk is still very strong.

We have a person from Totana, whom we appreciate very much, in the UCI and in a very difficult situation.

My heartfelt wishes for him to be replenished.

Four days ago, it was so normal for our town.

This can happen to anyone.

No one is free.Public Health is working in a very complicated situation, carrying out massive screening in sectors and companies where most of the cases are located.

These massive screenings and tests result in an increase in positive cases in our town.We already have problems in the Nursing Home and some Nursery School.

The protocols have worked and those affected are asymptomatic, isolated and in good condition.

But the virus has gotten in and this is no time to blame anyone. At the time I write this post, the confinement of Totana has not been contemplated.

They can change in hours or days, depending on the evolution.

My criterion (without knowing about scientific issues) is that the closure would not solve the problem.Nor are problems solved with easy criticism, getting nervous or losing our cool.

Let us think that it is very easy to criticize or express opinions about everything as if we had the solutions, to take advantage of a tragedy politically or to launch occurrences when they come to mind.Nobody has read me in this pandemic, to criticize the Regional Government or take advantage of the situation politically.

Nor to the Central Government.

It is time to support what we can to overcome this situation and it seems irresponsible to have attitudes that are not supportive and understanding, accompanied by the necessary calm.

The opposite, with all due respect, seems absurd to me and does not solve anything.Commerce and Hospitality have suffered and are suffering the consequences of the crisis and we must support them.

But let's not forget that agriculture is our fundamental pillar in the economy and WE ARE ALL NECESSARY.

IN THESE MOMENTS, MORE THAN EVER.The small agricultural and livestock entrepreneurs and the workers of the field or livestock, had a fundamental role in the first phase of the pandemic (as they do now), standing up and guaranteeing our food.

We were lucky that they came out unscathed from the virus and now it is attacking them cruelly.

They must also feel our support as a people. The vast majority of people who work in the fields and warehouses (self-employed or salaried), in addition to earning an honest living, contribute to Social Security and pay their taxes (VAT, personal income tax, Indirect Taxes ...) to maintain system.

Let's not forget it.

Neither do they consume in Shops and Hospitality, supporting the Local Economy. No matter how many measures are adopted by the authorities, health workers or Security Forces, not everyone can be controlled and only with RESPONSIBILITY can we overcome the situation.

It is a very important percentage that of collaboration and responsible and supportive feeling to avoid contagion. There are towns that were doing well and in recent days cases have skyrocketed.

It is not something exclusive to Totana.

If we listen or watch the news, it is a World Pandemic to which the solution has not yet been found despite the advances in science in the times we live in.Let's be understanding with doctors and health personnel.

also with the Police and Civil Guard or people who are at the forefront of the Crisis.

If we do not trust them, we will be much weaker in the face of the virus.I'm sorry to be repetitive, but for citizens standing, we have no choice but to remain calm, protect those close to us, comply with the rules and act with RESPONSIBILITY AND SOCIAL DISCIPLINE that no one should impose on us with sanctions or force.

In a very high percentage, overcome this situation and lower the figures, DEPENDS ON US AND US.I hope I did not bother anyone.

We will continue to collaborate with the Health Authorities in defense of the Health of our people.

Please don't lose hope that we will get through it.MASK, SOCIAL DISTANCE, AVOID CLOUDS, WASH YOUR HANDS REGULARLY, KEEP QUARANTINS STRICTLY, SOCIALIZE AS LESS POSSIBLE, BE UNDERSTANDING AND KEEP CALM.Juan José Cánovas, Mayor of Totana
