The Murcia Mountain Championship disputed the second event of the contest in the town of Moratalla, competing a special section that ran along the road that connects the town with the Sanctuary of the House of Christ, in a spectacular environment.
The list of authorized to take the start was composed of 30 teams, of which 7 belonged to the Automobile Club Totana and with broad expectations of occupying the podium positions in their respective categories.
After the dispute of the training session, the moment of truth arrived with the celebration of the two official races of which the best time trial would be selected, giving José Antonio Sánchez "Nano" (BMW 328i) the best position in the club. the second absolute place in the section of cars staying only 5 cents to get the victory.
The other BMW in the club was the BMW 325i Juan Antonio Martinez that was a step away from the absolute podium but nevertheless if it managed to occupy the 3rd place of the large group of Históricos.
David Cánovas Arias "Santero" at the controls of his Renault 11 Turbo managed to get on the podium as third classified in the Class 12, while Francisco García "Micheleto" at the wheel of the Citroen Saxo VTS was classified in third place in Group A.
They could not finish the test by mechanical failure Diego Martinez Crespo (Peugeot 106), Jose Miguel Del Vas (Peugeot 205) and club president José María Martínez (Seat Leon).
Therefore excellent performance of the riders representing the Automobile Club Totana who managed to finish the Ascent to the House of Christ, since all managed to occupy podium positions in their respective categories, in addition to battles for the absolute victory.
The next event of the regional contest will be the home test, the Rise to the Holy, the next 27, 28 and 29 September that will be valid for the Spanish Mountain Championship.
