The Local Police of Totana this week adheres to the campaign to monitor the use of the Safety Belt and Child Retention Systems (SRI) that is carried out from today and until this Friday, from May 20 to 24, promoted by the General direction of traffic
The DGT insists on the fact of being these approved restraint systems, safety belt and SRI, the "simplest, most profitable and effective" system in all types of routes and routes.
It also warns that "although the use of the safety belt has increased," there are still "serious gaps".
This is "hardly understandable if we take into account the relationship between simplicity of use and its effectiveness, since it halves the risk of death in the event of an accident".
One of the objectives of the Road Safety Strategy 2011-2020 is "to ensure that no child loses his life by not sitting correctly in a chair suitable for his weight and height".
According to the DGT, the monitoring and application of the leyen as regards the use of the belt and restraint systems has been consolidated as one of the most effective methods to maintain and increase the rate of use of the belt among the occupants of the vehicles.
To add to the next line that "traffic in the city is the first of the scenarios where the driver begins the acquisition of habits and customs, and that, in this case, the breach is significantly greater than in interurban roads."
This campaign is carried out in compliance with Instruction 15 / TV-84 of the General Directorate of Traffic that regulates the programming of Control and Surveillance Campaigns at provincial or regional level during the year 2019, and in addition to the campaigns programmed by the DGT.
