It seems to us a contradiction that the Mayor does not have the Councilor for Crafts for a topic of that importance and set for the future of Totana in a subject that should have a broad consensus and leave it for the Corporation that will leave the polls on the 26th of may.
Even more so when initiatives have been blocked so that this building is cataloged as a museum to exhibit pieces from La Bastida (owned by the totaneros) and artisans, as to boost Tourism and the Economy.
Given this attitude, we have presented the following Amendment to the Whole to debate in the plenary session on April 30:
"Amendment to the totality and substitution presented by the Municipal Group Win Totana IU to the one presented by the Mayor's Office in the April 2019 plenary session on:" Transfer of the Technological Craft Center to the Association of Artisans (ASART) in order to convert it in Totana's Pottery Museum "
Last Wednesday, April 24, the Mayor presented the Motion in the Informative Commission after a letter presented by Mrs. Rosa María Sainz on the 19th of the same month.
More than a year ago the Councilor of Archaeological Sites submitted a proposal to the Governing Board to request the General Directorate of Cultural Property to catalog the CTA Building as a Museum Collection or Museum of the City in which parts of the Site were exposed de la Bastida to be shared with exhibitions and exhibitions of Totanera Crafts.
This proposal, after almost a month of attempts, was rejected by the Governing Board with the mayor's quality vote.
In this case, the speed of the petition does not offer any doubt.
This motion is presented without previously passing through the Department of Crafts or to inform and consult the Kalathos Association that is using this building to treat and classify the findings of the Reservoir of Cabezuelas.
But what we find more strange than an issue of this magnitude, which should be studied from the consensus, such as the agreements on the CAI or the future Residence to PADISITO, is presented by a lady, without the minutes of the meeting agreement in ASART or Project of Feasibility some.

A place like the old Craft Technology Center must be managed and kept in the power of the City Council, without taking risks, even if a Consultant Council is constituted for its management.
The subsidies, funds or aid, always go through the City Council and it does not seem prudent to leave it in the hands of a supposed Association, whose members we do not know, "manage" this good municipal heritage, with public money and without control.
For the Group that presents this amendment, this building should be the axis of Tourism and thrust of Economic Development in Totana, to boost sectors such as Crafts, Trade or Hospitality so needed measures that enhance their economic activity generating employment, in addition to other benefits for Totana.
Cedelo a few days of municipal elections is an operation that, in addition to improvisation, can go very badly conditioning a future Government or Corporation that leaves the polls on May 26.
Therefore, based on the Organic Regulation of the City of Totana, we present, in due time and form, the following AMENDMENT TO THE TOTALITY AND REPLACEMENT OF THE MOTION PRESENTED BY THE MAYOR:
1. Totana City Council agrees to request the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as well as the General Directorate of Cultural Property, that the current CTA acquire the category of Museum or Museum Collection of the City of Totana.
2. The Plenary asks the Directorate General of Cultural Assets to make available to the City Council of Totana the archaeological pieces of the Argaric Deposit of La Bastida that are considered for display in the Museum of the current CTA and that are of Public Ownership (From the Town of Totana) according to the Regional Heritage Law.
3. It is agreed that the activity of the Museum will be complemented with pieces from La Bastida, other Totana Sites, itinerant exhibitions and where samples of Totanera Crafts will be relevant, providing economic means and resources to turn it into a center and cultural and tourist interest .
4. The current CTA Center will not be transferred to individuals and will maintain the municipal public management that will constitute a Consultant Council for its operation and activities in which artisans, merchants, hoteliers and other totaneros groups are represented to design activities and exhibitions, as well as tours of places of interest in Totana. "
