The government delegate meets in Totana with the working group on the new layout of the AVE and the High Voltage Line (25/07/2018)

The Government delegate in Murcia, Diego Conesa, met yesterday with the working group on the new layout of the AVE, approved by the plenary in its day, and the High Voltage Line, formed by representatives of the Municipal Corporation and the platforms neighborhoods affected by both infrastructures as it passes through the municipality of Totana.

The meeting was framed within the institutional meetings that are being held in the municipalities affected by the layout of the AVE, where it was received by some neighbors and demonstrators, at the gates of the Totanero Consistory, members of the AVE Totana Fuerza Ciudadana platform.

During the same was intended to meet the demands and concerns of those affected and move a joint work approach and future between the different administrations and the neighbors involved to avoid the maximum damage to them.

The meeting intended, invited by the councilor of Totana, to address the actions to be developed in this area due to the latest political changes that have taken place in the Government of Spain and, therefore, in the Government Delegation, the Ministry of Development and the Administrator of Railway Infrastructures (Adif).

Diego Conesa said to show "respect and sensitivity" for those affected by the route of the AVE as it passes through the municipality, with whom he spoke a few moments before the work meeting.

Afterwards, the Government delegate, who was accompanied at all times by Mayor Andrés García, met in the plenary hall with the spokespersons of all the political parties represented in the City Council of Totana, as well as with members of the platform against the high tension line and AVE Totana Fuerza Ciudadana and development technicians in the Government Delegation and Adif.

For Diego Conesa, this meeting "is a first contact to listen to the affected neighbors and see what measures can be taken to prevent the AVE has less affection and to take ahead twenty homes of first residence";

while acknowledging that "any modification of the route will mean a delay in the construction of the AVE".

In addition, he assured that "this problem is inherited" and assumes it and faces "with transparency and sensitivity" to listen to the affected neighbors.

Finally, he stressed that the project of the renewal of the rail service of Cercanías in the Region of Murcia, and more specifically in the Guadalentín region, is "linked to the arrival of the AVE, because it is essential to have the new electrified roads," he said. .
