The Commonwealth of Sierra Espuña presented last night the poster of the third edition of the ECOS International Festival of Ancient Music, to be held during the month of July in emblematic places of the participating municipalities, which is organized by the Territory Sierra Espuña and "Early Music Project ".

This includes tourist packages and gastronomic experiences for the six municipalities of the Sierra Espuña regional park, as they explained during the presentation, which coincided with the European Day of Music, in an evening held at the Jardines de La Santa Hotel in Totana.

The presentation has been carried out by Pedro Noguera, president of the Commonwealth Tourism of Sierra Espuña and mayor of Pliego;

Andrés García, mayor of Totana, and Jorge Losana, director of ECOS Festival.

In addition, there was the presence of Diego Conesa, new delegate of the Government and former mayor of Alhama, who attended the event to show his strong support for this regional project that he has been part of during these last years.

In addition, members of the municipal corporations of the rest of the municipalities of Sierra Espuña have also been present, such as the Councilor for Tourism totanera, Inmaculada Blázquez, and the mayor Ana María Cánovas;

as well as cultural agents, tourists, sponsors and friends of the festival.

The event was enlivened with performances of the Ensemble ECOS of Sierra Espuña and a group of chamber of the Orchestra of the University of Murcia, interpreting the scores of the seventeenth century recovered by Early Music Project researchers in a notarial protocols of Caravaca de la Cruz .

The mayor Andrés García has highlighted the effort that the territory is doing to create a new and diverse tourist offer in the region of Sierra Espuña.

Equally satisfied with this work has been Pedro Noguera, current president of the Commonwealth of Sierra Espuña, who has ended his speech demanding more support from the regional government to consolidate this festival as one of the great music festivals of the Region of Murcia.

The current delegate of the Government, Diego Conesa, has closed the event highlighting the model of participatory governance adopted by the "Sierra Espuña Territory", carrying out initiatives such as this that enrich the tourist offer.

The festival has a website ecosfestival.com from which you can directly buy tickets for concerts and tourist packages that combine gastronomy and accommodation.

For the preparation of the packages the Mancomunidad has counted with the travel agency of Mula TurismoWala and with companies of the region that are certified with the European Charter of Sustainable Tourism.

Quartetto Nero, Imaginario Barrroco and Nuri Collective have been chosen to participate in the residence of the ECOS International Festival of Ancient Music of Sierra Espuña, which will be held from July 18 to 28 in the Region of Murcia.

The festival will be held from July 18 to 28 with activities and concerts in the six municipalities that make up the Sierra Espuña Commonwealth.

The resident groups chosen for this 2018 edition were the Quartetto Nero women's quartet (Poland);

the flute trio of flute, key and cello Imaginario Barroco (Argentina) and the classical flute quartet formed by traverso, violins and cello called Nuri Collective, created at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya by musicians from South Korea, Sweden and Italy.

The selection of these residences was the responsibility of Jorge Losana, director of ECOS Festival and Early Music Project;

David Gutiérrez, responsible for ECOS Festival programming, and the renowned violinist Manfredo Kraemer, responsible for training and working with the groups.

The realization of the International ECOS Academy is possible thanks to the collaboration with the Cultural Service of the University of Murcia, Campus Mare Nostrum, the Professional Conservatory of Music of Murcia and the Higher School of Music of Catalonia.

These three young formations specialized in ancient music will be in charge of offering concerts that, in the second week of the festival, will flood with ancient music the municipalities of Murcia, Alhama de Murcia, Totana, Aledo, Librilla and Pliego.

The residency at ECOS Festival will give you the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with Manfredo Kraemer for a week, as well as advice on communication, and the realization of a promotional video with Kinetic and Dbup Classical Recordings.

The three will also participate in the session 'Early Music Night', an event that will put the finishing touch to ECOS Festival in which, both the groups and the audience, will enjoy the ancient music in a nocturnal and relaxed atmosphere.

Children's concerts 'Early Music Kids'

In addition to working with the resident groups, Manfredo Kraemer will give the Chamber Music Workshop, scheduled from July 23 to 27 at the international academy of the ECOS Festival.

Those selected to participate in the training of the Argentine master have been the groups L'Ampastratta (Valencia), Ars Quartetae (Murcia) and a group of musicians from the Orchestra of the University of Murcia.

They will be responsible for giving the children's concerts of the 'Early Music Kids' project, which will schedule musical events for the youngest at ECOS Festival.

In addition, they will also have the opportunity to arrange other performances for all audiences in the municipality of Aledo.

ECOS Festival also has the musical participation of resident groups from previous editions, who come to the event this 2018 to show their trajectory as already consolidated professionals.

Among them could not miss Cantoría vocal ensemble, directed by Jorge Losana and created in the first edition of ECOS Festival;

which has already become one of the oldest music groups formed by young Spaniards with the most projection in Europe, having been selected by the European program EEEmerging for 2018 and having participated in different international projects in Italy, France and Germany, among others countries

The Les Tambourins line-up also returns to the ECOS Festival this year.

Based in The Hague, this resident group in the 2017 edition has seen its professional career take off during this year with different professional participations in European cities, including Göttingen, Utrech and Bruges.

The opening of Pablo Zapico and Daniel Zapico

The opening concert of ECOS Festival 2018 will be offered by Pablo Zapico and Daniel Zapico.

As every year, the inauguration meeting will take place in the Strait of Agualeja, one of the most representative natural enclaves of Sierra Espuña, located in the municipality of Aledo.

Pablo Zapico will be in charge of teaching, on July 19 and 20, the Intensive Continuous Low Course, also framed in the international academy of ECOS Festival.

In it, students will have the opportunity to learn all the secrets of the instrumental accompaniment of Baroque music.

The poster of ECOS Festival is completed by the prestigious Argentine violinists Manfredo Kraemer and Guadalupe del Moral, who will also offer a joint concert during the festival, and the Ensemble ECOS of Sierra Espuña, which thanks to a collaboration between the Early Music Project and the Higher Council of Scientific Investigations (CSIC), will perform unpublished music from the Cathedral of Orihuela (Alicante).
