The Secretary General of the PSOE, Andrés García Cánovas, said that the party he represents is available to residents affected by the new layout, with nocturnality and treachery, ADIF has modified without giving enough time to make allegations
"From the PSOE we do not understand how ADIF decides to modify the layout approved in 2010 without, in addition, consult with the City of Totana or with the new neighbors affected," said Mr. Andrés García.
The Socialists believe that the new layout does not bring any improvement compared to the previous one, but quite the contrary, causing a greater number of affected, especially in new homes that were not harmed by the previous route.
Thus, they denounce that they see no need for the speed of the AVE to be increased as proposed by ADIF, at the same time that they doubt that the new layout will improve the speed with respect to the previously approved one.
The PSOE supported the motion presented in the plenary session, on April 26, and was approved unanimously, which required the Administrator of Railway Infrastructures (Adif) and the Ministry of Development the immediate withdrawal of the new project of the AVE route to his arrival to this municipality, requesting to leave without effect his approval or publication in the BOE, since they consider this new decision of ADIF an outrage for the injured neighbors.
Therefore, from the PSOE, reiterate their support for this platform and the City Council, showing their opposition to the new layout, in order to give ADIF the concern of the residents affected by this latest modification of the project approved in 2010.
